Shingles Vaccine (Shingrix) in Mississauga

Peel Travel Clinic provides Shingrix vaccine to protect adults 50 and older from shingles (herpes zoster) and the painful condition known as postherpetic neuralgia. Available at our Mississauga travel clinic.

What Is Shingles?

Shingles is a painful viral infection caused by the reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus (the same virus that causes chickenpox). It causes a blistering rash, usually on one side of the body, along with pain, burning, and itching. In older adults, shingles can lead to postherpetic neuralgia — chronic nerve pain that can last for months or years. Vaccination is the most effective way to prevent shingles.

Who Needs the Shingles Vaccine?
